e-miracle Nr. 15
Dear friend, If you have not received one of these e-miracles before, I would like to explain what they are about. Basically, they are insights and quotations from 'A Course in Miracles' and 'The Disappearance of the Universe' ('Gud Er' in Danish). My purpose is to introduce you to the teachings in these extraordinary books, which I believe can truly help us save time on our journey back to oneness. In this e-miracle I am finally going to tell you who the authors of these book are. I have delayed in revealing this because on one level it is not important. In the 1960's a lady called Helen Schucman started to hear a voice. This voice claimed to be the voice of Jesus. This voice spoke to her over a period of several years and she wrote down what it said in shorthand. Finally in 1975 she finished the writing and had it published. 'A Course in Miracles' was born. Yes, this is the Jesus of the bible. However, much of the bible was written many years after Jesus was around, and also much of it has been changed along the way to suit the religion of the time. 'A Course in Miracles', on the other hand, is the word of Jesus directly and has not been changed at all. In fact, this is probably the first time in our history where it has been safe enough for his real message to be spoken in public. Jesus never intended to start a religion. What he wanted was to teach us a way of thinking that would help us wake up from our dream, and lead us to lasting inner peace and joy. As I understand it, Jesus was probably the first whose thought system was wholly identified with the memory of his true Self (or what the 'Course' calls the Holy Spirit) and thus without ego. The 'Course' is not always an easy book to grasp, and some of the teachings can be misunderstood. This is the reason why, 30 years later, 'The Disappearance of the Universe' has come out in order to explain and clarify 'A Course in Miracles'. In 1992, Gary Renard, the writer of 'The Disappearance of the Universe' was meditating in his living room when suddenly two ascended masters appeared on his sofa. It turns out that this couple were two of Jesus' disciples from two thousand years ago. They said it was time for the 'Course' to be brought more into the main stream and they had come to help that process. They appeared 13 times over a period of 9 years, and Gary recorded their conversations. The book is a basically a transcript of these conversations. Gary is extremely funny and is the perfect man to bring, what is perhaps the most radical teaching on the planet, into our lives in a simple and fun way. These books have made a profound change in my thinking and understanding of life. Personally, I would rather listen to the teachings of someone whose thoughts were aligned with the Holy Spirit rather than anyone who still has an ego!
